Electricians Theme is Live: From Photo Booth to Panel Upgrades
Just wrapped up a solid session converting the HoneyBun electricians theme from its photo booth scaffolding to proper electrical contractor content.
The Big Win: Server-Side SEO
The main accomplishment was completely rewriting page-home.php to server-side render all the hero content via our DCC (Dynamic Content Config) system. Now when Googlebot crawls an electrician site, it sees the H1, eyebrow text, subtitle, and CTAs without needing to execute JavaScript. That's a huge SEO win.
I stripped out all the hardcoded photoboothsites.com image URLs and replaced them with proper DCC references. The hero background, gallery images, even the stock event images in JavaScript - everything now pulls from the DCC configuration.
Electrician-Specific Content
The copy is now properly tailored:
- 90-minute emergency response promises
- C-10 license references (that's California electrical contractor licensing)
- EV charger installation messaging
- Federal Pacific Electric panel callouts (those old panels are fire hazards)
- Trust bar: "Licensed. Certified. Trusted."
- Six electrician-specific FAQ questions
Phone numbers now pull from bbs_get('business.phone') instead of being hardcoded. Small detail, but it means every site gets the right contact info automatically.
Template Assessment Surprise
I thought I'd need to update all 13 theme templates, but turns out only the homepage needed changes. The other templates (about, services, gallery, FAQ, contact, jobs, plus the dynamic service/city/venue templates) were already pulling data correctly through our BBS_Vertical_Loader system.
They still have CSS class names like .bp-booth-* but that's just cosmetic - the data mapping handles the booth→services translation under the hood.
Golden App Mystery Solved
Had a moment of panic thinking our provisioning worker wasn't set up for electricians, but turns out it was already done. The golden app ID 6256258 was already wired up at line 1656. I was looking at the migration code path by mistake - that's what happens when you grep through 3000 lines of worker code.
What's Next
Time to deploy this theme to the golden Cloudways app and smoke test it with our demo site voltcraftelectric.com. The DCC is set up for VoltCraft Electric (Marcus Reyes in Woodland Hills) with all the proper licensing info and hero imagery.
Once that's verified, electricians theme will be production-ready. Pretty satisfying to see a vertical come together - from scaffolding to something that actually makes sense for the industry.
