Shipping Fixes Across 8 App Servers + Some Dashboard Polish

Had a solid dev session today tackling some accumulated tech debt and shipping a few key fixes.

The Big Deploy

First up was fixing a JSON decode issue in bbs-config.php that was causing some headaches. Nothing too exciting, but these little bugs have a way of multiplying if you don't squash them quickly. Pushed the fix and deployed it across all 8 of our golden app servers - plumbers, gyms, barbershops, HVAC, medspas, realtors, roofers, and electricians. Love that we can deploy via SSH stdin pipe now, makes rolling out fixes so much smoother.

New Vertical: IV Hydration

Got our newest vertical iv-hydration properly provisioned in the system. Added it to the golden app lookup table and protected apps list. It's wild how we've expanded from just a few verticals to covering everything from barbershops to IV therapy clinics.

BrightLocal Integration

Finally got the missing piece for our BrightLocal integration - uploaded the API key as a Wrangler secret. The code was already there waiting, just needed that last connection. There's something satisfying about solving a problem that's literally just adding one environment variable.

Dashboard Permissions Overhaul

Spent some time cleaning up our dashboard role permissions. We now have a clean 4-role system: owner, admin, team, and operator. Added proper access gating and navigation hiding based on roles. Had to handle some legacy role aliases too - you know how it is when systems evolve organically.

Also did some spring cleaning on the iv-hydration server, removing 16 debug PHP files that were cluttering things up.

What's Next

Hit a few blockers that need some input from the team. We need to decide on our URL hierarchy pattern for the migration, and there's some external research for link building that's waiting on me. Also need to reach out to GoDaddy for OAuth integration.

Up next is confirming the URL pattern and doing an SEO diagnostic on one of our medspa sites. The infrastructure work never stops, but that's what keeps it interesting.
